The Suoni Ensemble

About us

about_usSuoni is Italian for sound and each member of the ensemble is hand picked for their unique sound quality and their desire to tell stories through music making.

The Suoni Ensemble has recently been formed in Copenhagen to perform concerts and give workshops in the Nordic Region and beyond, playing the music of contemporary classical composer Siobhan Lamb, Denmark resident of 5 years.

The Ensemble is formed of a group of highly skilled musicians from several musical genre (including classical and improvising artists), who explore a given narrative from literature. Through the performance and development of Siobhan’s work, ideas can be shared with new audiences.

MEMBERS INCLUDE
Gregory Warren Wilson/Helge Slaatto – Leader, both acclaimed Violinists.

Gerard Presencer – Trumpet, professor and member of Danish Radio Big Band
(also Suoni Ensemble manager).

Lennart Gruvstedt/Soren Frost – Percussion, acclaimed percussionists who have both been the drummer in the Danish Radio Big Band (former and current).

Hugh Webb – Harp, Former Principal Harp of the Philharmonia Orchestra in London.

Kuno Kjaerby – Violinist, improvisor, composer.

Annette Slaatto – Viola, acclaimed soloist.

Helge Albin – Saxophone, acclaimed soloist and bandleader/composer.
